Windows Components 3.8.5

Overview

At-a-Glance Improvements

  • Workstation Lock can be enforced after password change - to enforce certificate refresh in offline cache.

  • WBF enrollment process improvement

  • RA/EP is compatible with .NET framework 4.7.3

  • Improved mechanism for offline - online connection switching scenarios

  • Enabled “Skip password renewal” UI option during grace period for password change

What’s New

Credential Provider

  • There is a new registry key:

    CODE
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VeridiumID\VeridiumAD]
    "WorkstationLockAfterPasswordChange"=dword:00000001

When set to 1, a user triggering a password change using Ctrl-Alt-Del -> Change password flow, will also trigger in a workstation lock.
    Default value is 0 (disabled).

  1. There is an improvement in logging in WBF (Windows Biometric Framework) onboarding app. Enrollment process provides more detailed information to Windows Application event log for easier diagnosing.

  2. Credential Provider UI responds to offline/online connection switches more coherently, switching to offline or retrying the online authentication correctly for all HTTP codes.

  3. Users can choose “Skip password renewal” if they are in the grace period before password change deadline set by policy.

RAEP

  • RA/EP supports .NET Framework 4.7.3
