Mobile Release Notes 3.8.3
Veridium Authenticator 3.8.3 introduces advanced security layers for high-risk authentication scenarios, expands hardware interoperability with FIDO proximity protocols, and significantly enhances the user experience through granular localization and Android 14 optimizations. This version is designed to support upcoming features in VeridiumID Server 3.9, specifically around risk-based authentication workflows.
Authentication Context Dialog
This release introduces the Authentication Context Dialog, a pre-authentication security layer designed to combat "push fatigue" and accidental approvals.
Server version 3.9 or above is required for full usage of this feature.
Risk Awareness: Displays a customizable dialog with risk context (e.g., location, ILP score) before the user is prompted for a biometric or PIN challenge.
Intelligent Suppression: For multi-step journeys, the dialog is shown only once to prevent repetitive prompts.
Acknowledgment: Requires a conscious positive action (e.g., "Yes/Confirm") to proceed or a negative action to immediately terminate the session.
Advanced Localization & Per-App Language
Turkish (tr) Support: Full localization files and automatic language detection for Turkish-speaking users on both platforms.
Independent App Language: Android users can now select a specific language for the Veridium Authenticator without changing the global system language, matching existing iOS behavior.
Improvements & Technical Enhancements
API Resilience: Default read/write timeouts for certificate creation and renewal APIs (RegisterAccount, RenewClientCertificate) have been increased to 30 seconds to support slower external CA responses.
Server-Side Banner Management: Administrators can now control the visibility of the "A new app version is available" banner directly from the Veridium Manager.
Passkey Cleanup: Added logic to automatically remove local passkey references if a registration attempt fails, preventing stale data issues
Upgraded 4F & VFace libraries for better image aquisition, error and session handling.
Added iOS support for liquid glass dynamic design language introduced in iOS v26
Bug Fixes
Android
Samsung Android 14 Fix: Resolved an issue where the system credential selector overlay would not appear for Passkeys on Samsung devices running Android 14.
UI Overlap: Fixed a bug where the 3-button navigation bar overlapped the "Delete Profile" button in the Edit Profile screen.
UBA Data Ingestion: Corrected a failure where mobile device data was not ingested during QR authentication when only a single method was enabled.
Emergency Notifications: Fixed a synchronization issue preventing emergency push notifications from being received if the app was closed or in the background.
PIN Synchronization: Resolved an issue where the PIN would not synchronize for offline use even after the policy was set to "True".
Delegated Authentication: Fixed a generic error displayed on mobile when "Is Key Biometric Protection Enable" was disabled during delegated workflows.
