Windows Components 3.8.3

This update introduces significant enhancements to certificate management, offline behavior, and supported workflows. These come as a wrap up for the previous Windows Components 3.8.2 release.

Certificate & Authentication Configuration

Setting

Location

Default Value

Description

DontStoreDeviceCertificate

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VeridiumID\VeridiumAD]

dword:00000000

When set to 1, the device certificate is loaded from memory instead of the computer store. Warning: In this configuration, online authentication is only functional when the CP has access to the EP.

AutomaticallySwitchToOffline

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VeridiumID\VeridiumAD]

dword:00000000

Controls the new prompt behavior when the CP loses server access. Setting this to 1 disables the prompt asking the user to switch to offline mode.

CleanUserCertWhenNoMFA

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VeridiumID\VeridiumAD]

dword:00000000

If enabled (1) and authentication does not involve MFA (or Veridium CP isn't used for authentication), the user certificate will be removed from the user session.

SupressPasswordChange

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VeridiumID\VeridiumAD]

dword:00000000

Setting this to 1 disables the Veridium CP implementation of the Password Change workflow (accessible via Ctrl+Alt+Del), which can otherwise override other CP implementations (e.g., SmartCard PIN changes).

Workflow Support

  • Session Certificates: User certificates are now correctly added to the user session for RDP and Citrix environments.

  • Biometrics: Support for Windows Biometric Framework (WBF) in two-level workflows has been implemented.

Maintenance

  • Various minor bug fixes and stability improvements have been integrated.
