K8s/Openshift - VeridiumID Server Upgrade Procedure 3.8.4 - Hotfix

This procedure upgrades the veridiumid chart from 0.9.0 to 0.9.1.

Chart 0.9.1 adds:

• A correct backup of configmaps and secrets.

• The option to change the Cassandra keystore password.

1. Prerequisites

• Helm 3.

• OpenShift CLI (oc), logged in to the cluster.

• The veridiumid chart 0.9.0, installed in the namespace.

2. Configure the backup of configmaps and secrets

In veridiumid-containers/veridiumid-values.yaml, find the configmapsAndSecrets block under vid-maintenance > backup. Change it as follows:

  backup:
    configmapsAndSecrets:
      enable: true
      schedule: "0 21 * * *"
      upload:
        address: <IP_ADDRESS>
        path: /backup/configmaps-secrets/
        user: <USERNAME>

3. Download the chart

wget --user <NEXUS_USER> --password <NEXUS_PASSWORD> https://veridium-repo.veridium-dev.com/repository/helm-releases/veridiumid-containers/3.8.4/veridiumid-0.9.1.tgz

4. Upgrade VeridiumID

helm upgrade --install -n <NAMESPACE> -f veridiumid-containers/veridiumid-values.yaml veridiumid ./veridiumid-0.9.1.tgz --timeout 20m

5. Check the result

helm list -n <NAMESPACE>

Make sure that the CHART column shows veridiumid-0.9.1 for the veridiumid release.
