Upgrading Mobile SDK 5.x to 5.9

VeridiumID Mobile SDK 5.9 ships with VFace v4 providing a 3x increase in match performance.

VFace v4 biometric templates are NOT directly compatible with v3 templates generated with Mobile SDK 5.8 or earlier. However, if using the mobile SDK in conjunction with VeridiumID Server under some use cases V3 templates will be automatically upgraded to V4 templates via Veridium's adaptive enrolment system.

Below is a summary of the impact of mobile SDK 5.9 on VFace operation under specific use cases.

  • Mobile enrolment and authentication with local storage: A user must re-enrol when upgrading to mobile SDK 5.9.

  • Mobile enrolment and authentication with server side storage: A user must re-enrol when upgrading to mobile SDK 5.9.

  • Mobile and Web based enrolment and authentication with server side storage: A user must complete an authentication using VFace Web to trigger an enrolment upgrade within VeridiumID Server. Following this, mobile authentication will be fully functional.
